These Balay Baskets are beautiful, unique and intricately hand woven. They are from the Amazon region in Colombia, made with Guaruma fiber by the indigenous Cubeo tribe.
Their daily struggle is to preserve their culture, way of life and habitat. They use the baskets to transport firewood, food and medicinal plants.
They are bold as wall hangings or used to hold just about anything you can imagine in the home.
