Yanapuma hand selected this finely woven rug from women we work with in the highlands of Peru in the village of Chincheros.
The tradition of rug weaving is an age-old process using Quechua techniques, from spinning the yarn and dying it with colors obtained from various plants, minerals and even bugs.
Then the yarn is woven into cloth with intricate patterns and figures. The final result is amazing and has been accomplished in this manner for centuries.
It offers a sensational style and carries its own unique character.
Aiming to preserve centuries-old traditions, these weaves use the finest grade natural spring wools, native dyes and herbal washes.
Cared for respectfully should keep them in your family for generations.
