A stunning hand beaded Skull which represents the story of the Huichol people and carries its powerful energy in its design. A piece you will feel inspired by for years to come.

The Huichol people of Jalisco, Durango, Zacatecas and Nayarit, Mexico, known in their native language as Wixáritari, are globally recognized for their fantastically intricate, spiritually significant and brilliantly colourful beaded folk art. To the Wixáritari peoples the stories within each piece feature symbols, animals and designs which are centuries old and of great significance to their way of life.

Nowadays, these artworks are often produced for commercial purposes, using modern made yarn and beads, although originally would have been made from natural objects like shells, seeds and even coral, amongst other semi-precious stones and items.

Yanapuma has developed relationships with artisans still holding this tradition with integrity and we are so grateful to them for keeping the magic alive and well.
